Hey guys, so I ordered a 16GB black iPhone from apple.com on June 25th. The order status said it would ship by July 19th, but I all of a sudden got an email saying it had already shipped on July 10th! Has this happened to anyone else?

Apple Shipping Out iPhones Waaay Ahead of Time

Mine said it shipped by the 14th. (ordered on the 16th of June) It shipped on the July 8th and it's sitting in Memphis right now and still needs to fly to California.
Would be if I got one that didn't show zero bars of service in my house! My old 3GS shows 5 bars where as the 4 hows nada - and this is with them lying on a table side by side.
Ordered mine on the 25th too. Got email today saying it's been shipped with expected arrival on Thursday. Woohoo. Very excited!
Not so the case with bumpers. My free bumper was ordered by Apple on June 29th. It's status is still "not yet shipped", while my free Mobile Me arrived a few days ago.
I can only attribute this to the very low supply and high demand right now. No complaints on a free item. Especially since the order is placed. It'll get here.
Congrats to those getting their iPhones faster than expected. The date given sounds like it was placed as a last resort type of date.

No idea. But it has only had 2 business days. Why did you order through AT&T and not Apple? Better yet, go to one of the many Apple stores in the NE
I don't know AT&T said 7-14 days and apple 3 weeks. I wanted it delivered to my house too.

I don't know why so many people are surprised, when something says "shipped by" it means that it could ship before the advertised date.
My brother-in-law ordered his from AT&T on the 7th & it shipped Friday. You should see yours ship soon. AT&T orders are shipping weeks faster than Apple orders.
I'm seeing ships on 8/3 for an order for my family. Does Apple typically ship earlier, or even much earlier?

Just because it has been shipped seemingly early doesn't mean it will arrive early.

AT&T takes 7-10 business days while Apple Store takes 3 weeks ( they shipped from China) I'm not sure where AT&T shipped from.. I tried to call AT&T stores and see if they have any. They said they are out of stock and it will take 7-10 days to ship but i dont trust AT&T people to touch my phone and do set up for me..
I ordered on 7/6 and still not shipped yet. ( order through apple) ship on 7/27 del on 7/30. I'm hoping they send it one week earlier.. i cant stand my blackberry phone..
Sounds like your 3GS is still activated and your 4 isn't. I'd call AT&T and make sure everything is switched on their end. Or try turning your 3GS off for a which since it isn't activated.
After calling up Apple after having to swap not 1 but 2 new iphone 4's to get a fully functioning phone.

Yes, his is a 32GB & was ordered through the store. My brother ordered a 16GB through the regular website back on the 29th & got his that Friday but I think he might have lucked out & been one of the first to order on line once AT&T started taking online orders again.
