Apple should really distinguish OS updates from core apps updates

A new OS, great. New features to mail app ? Meh... new features to Photo app ? More meh... new features to Safari ? Wonderful.

Apps should be updated through the app store, like iTunes.

softwareupdate(8) can list (and install) what's applicable to the operating system.
