I think it would make sense to rename the stores for consistency sake.

The Videos app on the iPad should be renamed iVideos
iBooks stays iBooks
iTunes becomes iMusic
App Store becomes iApps

And they should all have matching icons (same color) so that they can be listed in one row next to each other.

Just seems more consistent and uniform, which is very apple like. What do you guys think?

I actually like iTunes more ... it flows together better. Of course if they ever come up with a popular comic strip app and someone calls it iToons they might have a problem. Duh hyuck

Anyway, I think everyone knows these terms too much now to change them. Besides everyone hates change, unless of course the change is in regards to their complaints about the iPad. :D

I believe the Videos app on the iPad is similar to the one on the iPod touch. It only plays videos stored on the iPod. It's not a store. I would agree with changing the name of iTunes since they sell movies and tv shows along with the music. However, I don't believe it will ever happen because everyone knows what iTunes is and would probably become confused with a name change. I disagree with your other ideas though.

I think that eventually Apple will release a separate client to sync the iPhone. If Apple is still interested in really gaining traction in the enterprise market, then they're going to have to move away from iTunes - at least for the business environment.

I wouldn't mind it if they just folded the App store into the iTunes store. I don't really need two icons for essentially the same thing.

Nobody doesn't have to rename nothing.

:)

There's a application called iTunes, and the store you visit is iTunes Store
Inside the iTunes store, there's a sub section called App Store
And iBooks, is not actually a store, it's an application.

People have adopted the name iTunes as the app and since it's so easily known by that I don't see it changing...

But that being said - it's an outdated name that refers back to a time when Apple just sold music.

iMedia is more appropriate as it encompasses more. Or even iStore. But again - iTunes has already reached critical mass as far as adoption
