Bought this Apple Silicone Case last month to go onto my iPhone 7 Plus, but noticed that the "colour" is fading/rubbing off. Never experienced this with a Silicone Case before, just wondered if anyone else had this happen to theirs? The case I had for my iPhone 6/6S is still in perfect condition, so wondering why this one hasn't been as durable? If I took it to my local Apple Store do you think they would replace it? Sorry I can't help much on this as mine is only few days old and no sign of any wear.

Could i ask you if you see any scratchs/marks with case ? As i have never used any case and only started using as matte black is very slippery and i managed to scratch on bottom while taking out the case ( prob my fault).

Just wanted to check as i prob will stop using case it if scratch iphone as i need to take out case often for sim change.
Thanks

I tried this case last month and returned it after a week. I play games on my iPhone, and I found that by gripping the phone intensely during gaming, the color of the case started to fade slightly where my fingers would grip the case. As a great alternative to this case, I ordered the Spigen Thin Fit, which is more of a rubberized polycarbonate, and I don't have any such problem. It doesn't provide as much protection as the Apple silicone case, but it's close. And best of all, it was only $10 on Amazon.

Same here.. A month in with my 7 Plus black silicone case and all four corners are discolouring/losing the top layer of the case. Pretty disappointing from Apple.

Came here looking for a thread on this..

Dropped $99 on the black smart case and it's already showing wear like this after only about two weeks..

Beyond disappointed. Had it on my 6 for almost a year and nothing like that.

The corners of my cocoa silicone case are rubbing off after around one month

I'm sorry - but, isn't that unacceptable?

I have the silicone smart battery case, my wife has a silicone case and I have a silicone Smart Cover/case for my iPad Pro. I have half the mind to return all of them.

It is normal for the silicone to get 'shiny'. But if it starts to peel, its defective and Apple will replace it. I had a couple replaced with my 6s for peeling.

Same thing is happening to my black silicon case for my 7+. One of the corners is beginning to shine. Not sure if they'd replace your case, but it never hurts to try. Least they could say is no

i can live with it, the case is to protect the phone afterall

now i'm not sure if my case is shiny or peeling

looks more like shining to me now

I'm going out on a limb here I know, but if it was peeling then would you not feel it?

im thinking of getting this case. i dont care that the color rubs off, however im concerned that the grippy sticky feeling wears off(my reason for getting the case). has this happened to anyone yet

Nope, not at all. Actually the more you use it, the more grippy it gets with wear. Kind of like how the leather case wears over time, this is similar except once it wears it gets really grippy and I like that. I've had my case for about 1.5 months and no peeling or anything.
