apple silicone cover quality

A couple of weeks ago, i was in an apple store and tried a white silicone cover. It looked great but was a tight fit. When i took it off, it immediately damaged one of the corners.

Is this a common occurrence with the silicone covers?

I'd like to buy one for my future X and take the cover of when i'm at my house.

I've had a couple of the silicone cases that the corner has torn when removing the case. You should be able to exchange them under warranty.
