Apple site delivery date vs. actual dates

I don't mind waiting for the watch, but it is a bit misleading when Apple.com shows a delivery date of October 11, only to estimate it as October 15-17 after I've placed the order. It's actually more surprising to me that their store is broken not to show the correct delivery time.

my (custom) MBP arrived a week earlier than stated, so there's that.

My U3 said delivery between 10/8-10. I ordered it several weeks ago. Checked site today and now it says 10/27-11/3.
