Apple is discontinuing the Smart Keyboard Folio. But they are still available. Does anyone know whether they would fit/work with the new 11-inch M2 Air? Can’t see why they shouldn’t, but maybe I am missing something.

Hoping to be surprised since I have a 12.9 inch and ordered a 13 inch air but I doubt they’re compatible

Tested mine out with an 11” M2 Air at an Apple Store and it worked perfectly.

Got my M2 Air today and can confirm it works with the Keyboard Folio that I originally bought for my 2020 Air.

100% sure?
whick apple keyboard specifically?

The older 12.9" IPP Magic Keyboard also works with the 13" iPad Air M2. I heard it did and found this open box on Amazon and it is a perfect fit. No issues with typing at all. The only thing is that the square camera hole for the IPP is larger than the singular camera circle for the Air but it's not an issue in any way.

The question is WHY are they discontinuing this? I MUCH prefer the Smart Keyboard Folio to any of the Magic options because it’s SO much lighter and more elegant to use. Portability to me is the advantage of the iPad (over a laptop), so integrating a trackpad is not a priority to me personally. The Magic Keyboard Folio is super clunky with the extra need/step of adding a kickstand. At least it doesn’t weigh 800 pounds like the ridiculous Magic Keyboard. Ugh.

I bought a Smart Keyboard Folio a couple of weeks ago for my 11" M2 iPad Air. Got it on Vinted and there were a number of ones there for sale. The one I got came with box and had only been really lightly used. £60 after a bit of haggling!

If you don't mind second hand—and seeing as the SKF is basically sealed and simple to clean—then could be an option for some people :)
