Dammit, I want to be able to create annoying neon-colored page schemes and list all my friends and hobbies so everyone can see how freakin' awesome and popular I am!:p

OK... knowing you, that makes sense. :p

There's no way I can see Apple entering this crowded market, with Murdoch in bed with MySpace, FaceBook the flavour of the month, Bebo the teens fave here in the UK and everyone as fickle as can be. Members can drain away in a matter of months, in search of the next big thing. Where's the incentive or income for Apple in all of this?

In my view, they're all over-rated... as an activity and as a serious and targetted networking tool. That might be heresy to some, but that's just the way I feel.

Very much so. The only possible revenue is from advertising space. The people who frequent these sites surely do not want to pay for them.

Besides, Apples already hosts their own forums, no? Not exactly for social purposes though.
