The release notes for version 2.5 of the Apple Sports app:
• Start your engines! NASCAR is now on Apple Sports. Get live race coverage and leaderboard updates, starting with the Daytona 500.
• Spring Training is here. Follow your favorite teams as they get ready for the MLB season.
Launched in February 2024, the Apple Sports app shows scores, stats, standings, upcoming games, and more for a variety of leagues, such as the NFL, MLB, MLS, NBA, NHL, Premier League, and others. The free iPhone app is available in the App Store.

Nice. Before you know it, this app will replace theScore for me. It’s still a ways out, though.

I’d rather Apple fix the notification bug with the Apple sports app where notifications just stay on your screen forever when a team scores and don’t automatically dismiss themselves

Not even close for me right now. theScore recently adding automatic live activies for the teams I follow was a big plus.

I appreciate this app honestly.
They kind of released an MVP with version 1.0 but now it feels much more complete.
I hope they continue to invest in this.

How about making giving it a widget to display scores. None of the existing widgets are worth a darn, especially, since ESPN stopped working.

rather have hidden scores/spoilers for MLS in ATV+. Like I just want to see the replay option without scrolling through thumbnail images of the winners, scoring highlights, and worst of all the replay icon having the winners with medals around their necks.

Scores I can find anywhere (google is quick) and so far "Sports" isn't a great app. Needs to be more complete especially in depth.
