Hi,

I'm buying a macbook pro for someone I know and want to get an SSD in it. I'm going to buy it BTO from apple since I want to be able to give it him in the box unopened (rather than buying it, taking it apart, putting a new drive in, reboxing it etc). Does anyone know if apples prices on SSDs follows any sort of cycle - i.e. is it at all possible to predict when they might come down in price. I can buy it any time in the next few months, so can easily wait a bit, but not indefinitely.

Apologies if this has been covered in a different thread, but I couldn't find it anywhere. Cheers.

They should come down in price with ever new revision, the update should come in january.

Apple never changes existing prices save for the one time with the iPhone and the iTunes music store.

They also lowered the cost of an earlier MBA for the SSD in the past, too.
