Hello, I need some help on deciding between an ssd for my 2011 15 inch macbook pro 2.2. I am looking at the 256 ssd from Apple the 300 intel 320 for the 250 intel 510 or the 240 owc mercury electra 6g ssd. If there are any others i should consider please let me know. Will the speed increase of say the owc for 200-500 make a real world diffrence? I have heard about hibernation problems with owc and ocz ssds on macs. Is it worth going for a 3rd party ssd that is 6g vs the apple the is 3g for the spped or will there be prolems with the hardware and lion and I shoudl just stick with the stock apple ssd. The ones from intel are more expensive but do able. The owc ssd and the apple are the same price so there is the biggest decision. Basicly if the spped will not make a real world diffrence then why bother putting something in that might have a problem and is not covered by the apple care warranty. Just to let you know this will be my main and only computer so i would also have to purchase some kind of external drive or get a bigger ssd. The cheapest would be to buy an enclourse for the apple drive if i got a 3rd party ssd the most expensive would be to a around a 500 gig or get a lacie little big disk with thunderbolt when it comes out. If anybody could help me decide or give my some insihgt on what they know that would be very helpful.
