Following the release of iOS 14.7 last week, Apple has stopped signing iOS 14.6, the previously available version of iOS that was released in May. With iOS 14.6 no longer being signed, it is not possible to downgrade to iOS 14.6 if you've already installed iOS 14.7 or iOS 14.7.1.

Apple routinely stops signing older versions of software updates after new releases come out in order to encourage customers to keep their operating systems up to date.

iOS 14.6 was a major update that added Apple Watch iPhone unlocking, Apple Maps accident crowdsourcing, Apple Card Family sharing, AirTag improvements, and more.

iOS 14.7, the update that replaces iOS 14.6, added MagSafe Battery Pack support and introduced numerous bug fixes. Apple today also released iOS 14.7.1, a smaller update that includes a critical security fix and a fix for a bug that could prevent Touch ID iPhones from unlocking a connected Apple Watch.

I usually moan about Apple removing older iOS versions so fast, but personally...good riddance 14.6! 14.7.1 fix, well...too early to call yet. Let's see what happens.

Pretty sure that was iOS 14.5 that introduced all those features.

This is a continuous process? And now they have stopped doing this? Or have they unsigned the software? I'm not loving it.

Lots has been written about IOS' susceptibility to Pegasus. Definitely bad that it could happen.

Let us accept the possibility that 14.7.1 fixes Pegasus issues. Typically, IOS users update pretty quickly.

If we accept that Android (in all or most of its variants) was also susceptible, I wonder how long before current versions are updated and made available to all who run Android - across all manufacturers' products? (Even if we just restrict that to three or so years of support.)

And, it appears that IOS logging provided the key information revealing Pegasus - Android doesn't.

I still don't know why apple doesn't allow people to downgrade.
IOS 14 borked my iPad so it no longer "talks" to my qsc mixer
and none of the revisions have fixed it.
IS there anyway to get back to 13.7?
