Apple today stopped signing iOS 17.1.1 and iOS 17.1.2, preventing iPhone users from downgrading to those versions of iOS. Apple is no longer signing the updates following the release of iOS iOS 17.2 on December 11 and the launch of iOS 17.2.1 today.

It is not unusual that iOS 17.1.1 and iOS 17.1.2 are no longer being signed. Apple routinely stops signing older versions of iOS after new releases in order to encourage customers to keep their operating systems up to date and to prevent users from downgrading to older, less secure versions of the software.

iOS 17.2.1 is the current version of iOS 17 that is available to the public. It introduced unspecified bug fixes, but the iOS 17.2 update that preceded it brought the Journal app, spatial video recording on the iPhone 15 Pro models, updates to Messages and Apple Music, and more.

Apple is also testing iOS 17.3, an update that is expected to come out in January.

The only thing keeping me from going to iOS 17 is the video player. iOS 16’s video scrubbing is so much better(scrolling anywhere on the screen).
Must be a developer option because I am using iCabMobile and it allows scrubbing on any video that is not hosted on YouTube.

Anybody else have their "Music" (non subscription) curated playlists scrambled out of alphabetical order By 17.2.1 on iP 14 pro?

Merry Christmas to you all.

Just force Apple to sign the latest update for all releases, iOS 16.x, iOS 15.x, iOS 14.x, iOS 13.x, iOS 12.x, iOS 11.x, iOS 10.x, iOS 9.x, iOS 8.x, iOS 7.x, iOS 6.x

I want to relive using iPhone 11 Pro Max when iOS 13.x was the latest version...

Or better yet, sign every version ever released... I want to get rid of the 10 minute restriction of Everyone on AirDrop introduced in iOS 16.2 (globally)

I want to downgrade my iPhone 14 Pro Max to iOS 16.1.1

Not letting me downgrade to whatever software version I want (not that I'd do it)
I'd guess the EU are pro that users are updating their devices and that manufacturers release software updates fixing security related issues and bugs.
Letting people downgrade to a less secure version iOS doesn't benefit anyone.

Agreed. We need a class action lawsuit to allow people to install whatever SW they want on their own iPhones. Tethering them and preventing installation is overreach. If the vendor thinks they have the right to prevent people installing what they want then those same people should have a right to a full refund for the purchase cost. If the EU were to make such a ruling then the vendor would go squealing back to Cupertino and quickly right the ship.

Since the update I can't connect to CarPlay, anyone else experience it? iPhone is charging, but CarPlay won't start.
