Apple today updated its Apple Store app for the iPhone with support for the Apple Watch, making it possible for Apple Watch owners to get real-time order status updates, check on Genius Bar reservations, and find nearby in-store events and workshops, all on their Apple Watches.

When opening the Apple Store app on the Apple Watch, the first option lists stores that are located nearby. Swiping upwards on the first screen offers up a map with an address for finding the closest store. The second screen in the Apple Watch app displays a scrollable list of all nearby workshops (signing up for a workshop is done on the iPhone), and the third screen offers up a list of all product orders. Scrolling to the bottom of that list gives an option to view a complete list of orders on the iPhone.

At an Apple Store, additional features mentioned in the app's description are unlocked, letting users check in for a Genius Bar appointment or get started on a pick up order.
The convenience of the Apple Store App on your Apple Watch. Get real-time order status updates, quickly get your pick up order started, check in for Genius Bar reservations and discover nearby in-store events and workshops.
Unlike with the Apple Store for iPhone app, the Apple Watch app is rather limited in scope, offering up just a few quick-glance functions that accurately represent how Apple hopes Apple Watch apps will be used.

The Apple Store app can be downloaded from the App Store for free. [Direct Link]

Allowing consumers to check the order status of their Apple Watch with the Apple Watch they don't have.

i wonder if people will create mini websites optimized for smart watch viewing now...

Allowing consumers to check the order status of their Apple Watch with the Apple Watch they don't have.

So because you can't check your watch status on a watch, Apple shouldn't release this so I can check my other orders on my watch? Very nice example of selfish and self centered thinking.

Perhaps in a few days you'll have a watch and would like to check your waiting orders. But then you'd start to complain that Apple doesn't have an app for your watch.

What is wrong with you people? Do you need to find something to whine and complain about with every single event that happens every minute of the day if it doesn't meld with your own personal biases and prejudices.

Please.

Please.

The irony abounds...

But, you're right. It's a dog chasing its own tail thing. Once they catch it, they realize that someone bit their tail, and it hurts...

...until the next time.

You still can't schedule a try-on appointment from the app without going to Safari. I would have thought that they would have incorporated this already. It would make it a lot simpler/intuitive.

Why don't you calm down.

This app is a waste. It shows the store nearby, shipped orders and a list of classes.

Every app that updates now throws itself on the watch.

I design and develop websites for a living. Please no! I have too many breakpoints as it is. Just thinking about all the conditional classes needed to strip a site down for a watch makes me want to die. I'd be really tempted to only put an h1 set in large San Francisco type with the text "404"

I apologize if you took my post seriously. I just thought it was funny that one of the screenshots displayed was an Apple Watch order. I was lucky enough to receive my watch on 'launch day' and love all the support developers have been adding.
