Apple today updated its Apple Store app on the iPad to introduce a refreshed design that includes a new sidebar. The sidebar on the left side of the screen offers quick access to shopping, Today at Apple sessions, favorites, order history, and more.

There are also buttons to shop by product so you can navigate to the iPhone, Mac, iPad, Apple Watch, and other Apple device options more quickly.

Apple says that this update also makes it easier to seamlessly add a keyboard or Apple Pencil when shopping for your iPad, and it also introduces support for virtual Today at Apple sessions.

They need to re-do the whole website too. I still have not figured out how to get to the AirTags besides scrolling all the way down on the Home Screen and then looking for the accessories link somewhere in a wall of text. It’s a pain to switch / navigate between products and accessories if you are so used to any other online store, ever

Glad to hear I'm not the only one. Trying to find AirTags on the Apple web site was a counterintuitive experience for me too.

Who gives a flip about sidebars?! They should fix that chaotic mess that occurs when a new release happens and you have to order. Why does it feel like a virtual Armageddon where I’m battling the whole world to order an iPad?

It's a good idea - I still feel so bad for developers trying to get their apps noticed. I still think there should be like a 'new Apps this month' tab or something. There may be loads, but that's for me to sort through and decide.

Can we login with our non-iCloud Apple ID's that we have used for years to make purchases... NO!

Why even bother Apple, pfft! 🤬

what does this mean? As it is I interpret it as if it adds itself, charges you and you don’t even notice it joke.
Else then it is no different like when adding a new Mac it upsells Apple care, a few potentially useful dongles, adding FCP/Logic/etc pro apps, external SSDs, airpods, etc

Didn’t know this was a thing! 😰
I think it would be some magic button only available on apple’s support side for merging or converting the thing to iCloud Apple ID. Then hope that nothing will get lost... if that’s even possible that is, hardly think so.

Why do I not see this or an option for it? Even after restarting? 2017 iPad Pro….

Meanwhile, App Store on High Sierra looks absolutely trashed. Still not fixed.

This looks more or less like the Mac app with more and better options. I think macOS 12 will get this at launch.

Thats exactly my point! I can‘t make any purchases because I get loggedin with my iCloud Account everytime and there is no way to logout or change the Account. Why can‘t I login with my normal AppleID to make purchases like on the website? This is ridiculous!

I am not seeing the new design either on my 2018 iPad Pro 11“.
Rebooting and force quitting the Appstore App doesn‘t help

The AppStore app hasn’t changed. It’s the Apple Store app that’s been updated.

Guess it means this when you’re scrolling down rather than ‘Add to Bag’ then another screen with what you’ve mentioned above.
