Apple today updated its Apple Store app for iOS and iPadOS with several improvements, led by changes to saved item lists.

Apple says the update now lets you share your lists of saved items with friend and family, making it easier to share gift ideas or collaborate on shopping lists using a share sheet icon on saved list pages. Along with that, your saved items can now be accessed from more places in the app.

For those looking to visit an Apple retail store, the update also enhances the information displayed on store pages, offering more detail about each store and its surroundings.

The Apple Store app is a free download from the App Store.

Apple would be wise to create a wish list for the App Store itself. Plenty of times when I'm browsing, I would have loved to add an app to a Wishlist. But didn't want to buy/install at that particular time. A few day later, I've ever forgotten the app, or can't find it again.

Quite sure Apple would have got more App Store sales from me that way. Can't speak for everyone, but I can imagine others would appreciate an App Store Wishlist for their own reasons.

A wish list sounds like a fine idea to me! Is there some way to manually check for app updates? Thanks

The App Store used to have a wishlist feature but sadly it got removed back in iOS 11. Presumably Apple took it away because a lot of people who put apps in their wishlist never ended up buying them. These days I just use the sharesheet and add it to a list in reminders.

I fully agree, but one workaround is to use the Share button to add the app to a note until they decide to add this feature again. I’ve attached a demo video.

How it’s done:

1) Create a note called “App Store Wish List” (or whatever you’d like to call it)

2) Pin it to the top of your Notes app by touching and holding the note in the list and selecting Pin Note

How to use it:

When you find an app you want later

1) Tap the Share icon

2) Choose Notes

3) Select the App Store Wish List note if it isn’t already selected.

4) Tap Save. It is added & links directly to the app download page when you are ready.

It's time for us all to get imbedded NFC chips so we can pair with any vehicle or device and access without having to use codes like the dark ages. Way overdue.
