I purchased my apple watches through the app and even paid with apple pay flawlessly on launch day. My frustration is why do I have to enter my Apple ID password every time I check my order status?

I guess I don't understand why I can't use the fingerprint sensor instead of my physical password.

In Gmail if I click on the email "View Order" button I go right to the status page without login.

In case your phone is stolen, this extra security step will prevent thieves from finding out your delivery date.

I have been looking for it too and assume it's not an option. Strange. If anywhere the Touch ID should be its on the Apple app.

I can use Touch ID for the App Store, I can use Touch ID for iTunes, I can use Touch ID for various 3rd party apps.

Why can't I use Touch ID for the Apple Store App?


Some people said that I could if I was in a country that supported Apple Pay (I'm in the UK), however judging by *this* thread it seems that even with Apple Pay support the Apple Store App will still require your password for things like checking an order... which seems silly to me.
