The day I received my Retina Mini in the mail, my 1 yr old decided to push it across my ceramic tile floor while crawling. In the process scratching the hell out of the aluminum shell. That was last week.
Just last night he was playing this Sesame St. game on it while my wife & I were in the kitchen. I turn around & he's walking all over it ! Thank god the screen didn't crack. Got lucky.
I need BF/CM to get here ASAP. Need a steel cage for my mini. Lol
Just thinking of the crawling across the tile floor with iPad in tow makes me cringe!
I am sorry this happen to you, but (sorry have to say it) what do you expect a 1 year old to do with the iPad? Sounds like he was just being a baby to me. I'd get a case ASAP, even a cheap $5 case off of Amazon.com to hold you over.

I personally think the $80 is a bit too expensive for a case at this point but didnt want to risk my Air getting scratched.

Wait and see you have a 14 day return period (maybe longer due to the holiday return period) for your Smart Case
Oh yes. I'm fully aware that he's still a baby & is gonna do baby things. We actually bought it for him for Christmas for educational purposes but should've kept it in the box for a little longer. He actually started on the carpet & headed for the tile. I couldn't get to him fast enough tho lol.
It's really no big deal. Just need a case to prevent further damage & w/ this place being a Forum, I thought some would find the humor in the story & also some advice for future owners

Gifting a 1st gen Mini to a 10-year so don't really need to get a case for it. She's much more careful with her stuff than I am.
Bought a red Smart Case for my iPad Air and I didn't like it. There's a gap between the cover and the screen and the edges kinda of dig into my palms. It also wasn't particularly stable as a stand. It would often collapse when I try to stand it up. Replaced it with a CaseCrown folio which is working much better for me.

There won't be discounts on the best of breed tablets. So many consumers want them that Apple already can't possibly keep up with demand. You might see some interesting discounts on accessories and the iPhone 5c though!

On AppleStore.com there is an one day black Friday shopping event. I don't see info on what products (again hopping for accessories) or what the sale is. Do anyone have info about the event?

Again not what I am looking for. That is last year's information specifically on core products and from third parties.
Then maybe you should wait until midnight pacific tomorrow and see what Apple releases. If you had read the article I posted you would already have that info.
Why would you come here for answers when anything other than what Apple releases will be purely speculation?
