Apple Store Education Discount

I am a teacher and looking to purchase my first Macbook using the education discount. I am problably going to buy it from the retail store. Does Apple request verification that I am a teacher. I just dont want to drive a hour to the closest Apple Store and not have what is needed

Did the school you work at give you an ID card? You can use that if they gave you one.
If not you have to bring in a paycheck stub or receipt, -whatever it's called- and another from of ID (drivers license, passport).

And if you order online they don't really check. Well they might check but they don't ask for any ID or anything.
