Apple Store Fefurb/Refresh Pileup?

I've seen the refreshed and refurbed machines pile up at Apple stores - especially the 'flagships' like Chicago Michican Avenue and San Francisco.

Sometimes they are there, sometimes not - I believe this is cyclical.

Any idea when typically there is a good pile to pick through for a relatively recent PMG5? Especially at the San Francisco store? End of month perhaps?
