iPhone XS Max Apple store gift card and iPhone preorder time question

I added the apple store gift card I got when apple had there promotion when I traded in my mom iPhone 7 to apple and added to wallet app.

How do I use the gift card to pay for the preorder for the phone and watch and can I use both gift card apple and credit card because the gift card won’t cover the full amount ?

What time is the preorder so I can setup on my calendar and setup an alarm a day before?

At check out, you do have to option to use the apple gift card balance and the remaining to go on your card you use. However, see below this is from after you select the option for delivery or pick up and on the page before you actually process the the order. You can use the physical Apple Card and not via Apple Pay if you were to do this route. You still get 3% daily cash even though you use Apple Card physical number.
