Apple Store gift card

I have an Apple Store gift card in my wallet app on my iphone and was wondering if it's possible to use in the apple store app when purchasing my iphone 7 tonight

Last year I don't believe the app supported the gift cards and I could only apply a gift card to my purchase if using apple.com via desktop

Anyone know if the apple store app allows this now?

Just did a dummy transaction as I am in the same boat and you have the option to add the gift card (up to 10) and also pay any outstanding balance. I have £800.00 waiting to be spent tomorrow in gift cards

WOW! Nice....I only have $50 but just wanted to use it up and every bit counts with this expensive purchase.

So when does it ask you to add the gift card. After you hit checkout in the app?

Yep when you go to pay and put in your details, mine has my CC pre filled and then option for Gift Card - Give it a go...just don't pay yet
