Hey everyone. I’ll be upgrading my 13 Pro to a 16 Pro (Max?) and was going to pre order on Friday. As per the title, do Apple usually have some display units to handle and feel before committing to an order? I usually wait until October time before I get mine but I’m out of the usual upgrade cycle (3 years I’ve had this phone). Just before I go to my local Apple shop on Friday and they don’t have them. It’s the first time I’m torn between the Pro and the Pro Max and want to make sure the Max isn’t too maxy.

Thanks in advance.

I think they will only begin to display demo devices on the launch day.

I remember when I went to see HomePod mini one day before its launch day. They told me they won't show anything until the next day.

You can see them before you order, but not before you pre-order. So it depends on how much of a hurry you're in.

The new iPhones will be on display in stores only on launch day, 20th September. It will not be on display during the pre order window

if you feel 15 pro max is maxy compared to 15 pro then most certainly you will feel the same about the 16 series too.

If you are not in rush wait till sep 20 and then order it but you may have to wait a bit longer to get the phone. But if you need phone by 20th then only option would be to order both pro and pro max and then return the one whcih you dont like..

Why do people ask this every year, it’s always been the same - you will only see the units on display on the actual launch date. In this case it’s the 20th September.
Only exception to this has been the original Apple Watch.

The way around your problem is (on pre order day) request to join the iPhone upgrade programme and pick the earliest slot at your Apple Store. There will be no commitment at this point. Select any iPhone model you want and when you attend your appointment say you’ve changed your mind and wish to pay by whatever method you prefer and if necessary say you’ve change mind about colour. At least you’re in the store early and can pick from available stock

Terribly sorry. As I said, my upgrade cycle normally takes me into mid October so this is new growing for me.

I’m in no real rush so will happily wait until demo units are in store to have a proper look/feel.

Thank you to everyone else who gave me a sensible reply.
