The ifo Apple Store site has posted this little tidbit:

Less than 48 hours after Apple retail V-P Ron Johnson told an analysts' meeting that, "Long-term, there aren't many high-profile (store) opportunities," a savvy passerby in London notes some activity amongst the construction on Regent Street that will become Apple's second retail store outside of the United States. You may know that Regent St. is the elite shopping district of London just off Piccadilly Circus, with stores by Hugo Boss, Gap, Laura Ashley, Bennetton, Disney, Liz Claiborne, Burberry and many others. Apple is opening its first international store Nov. 30th in the Ginza shopping district of Tokyo (Japan).

Can any London members confirm this?

There is a fairly big bit of construction/renovation going on opposite Hamleys in Regent Street. It is rather big and to be honest I haven't heard anything about a London AppleStore. It would be great if true though:D

Somebody care to walk up to the builders and ask what they are doing?

The store had to happen soon and it was either going to be on Regent Street, Tottenham Court Road, or Bond Street.

I think it woud make sense for the next store to be in the UK. I figure next stores would probably appear in Germany and France.
