apple store is nice enough to offer me a business discount of 6% off any Mac and 12% off apple care.

I'm thinking about getting a rMBP, I mainly run photoshop and vmWare, performance is key to me, any suggestions on rMBP or cMBP if money is not a huge matter?

if performance is key....get the all flash rMBP with 2.7 CPU, 16GB and 756 SSD. That gives you a machine that should last 3-6 years before the next hardware upgrade.

wouldn't the highest end cMBP beat the rMBP by Greenbench score?

Double check with the store, but I believe that EPP discount does not apply to retina purchases. At least thats how it is with my friends that work at BMW, they have the same discount structure plan, and the RMBP doesn't yet qualify.

It probably varies from plan to plan. I have a friend who ordered a rMBP and got a discount, although his hasn't yet shipped (then again, neither has mine :().

how do you qualify as a business? Can you just buy one machine or do you have to buy multiple ones?

It's when you're using the Mac for business purposes. I was offered it when I viewed the Retina in-store. You get a lovely little business card and everything.

Thanks. I have a small business but on the Apple website it says for business people there are discount for multiple software and macs etc...

So I can walk in store and just say I have a business and would get a discount?
