Apple's retail store at University Park Village, in Fort Worth, Texas, will soon be moving to a different area of the shopping center.

The new store will open on Saturday, October 11, at 10 a.m. local time, on the north side of University Park Village. Apple is moving into a larger space previously split between men's suit store Jos. A. Bank and women's clothing store The Impeccable Pig.

Apple will be located between the relocated The Impeccable Pig and Eatzi's Market & Bakery, according to photos shared by Fort Worth resident Sydney B. Claridge.

Apple opened its current store at University Park Village in 2008. The new store will be larger than the original, and it will feature an updated design. Apple has yet to share any photos of the new store, however, so its exact layout remains to be seen.

Apple's original store between Starbucks and Williams Sonoma remains open for now.

Elsewhere in Texas, Apple continues to renovate its store at the Baybrook Mall, in the Houston suburb of Friendswood. It is unclear when this project will be completed, but Apple has been operating out of a temporary store at the mall in the meantime.

They need to open an Apple store in Arlington or somewhere in central DFW. The Fort Worth store and the Dallas store on Knox are 36 miles apart. Yes, there is one in Southlake, but nothing in central or south DFW.

Why those columns? Are they afraid that someone will try to drive his car into the Apple Store? None of the other stores there has those columns and if you look at Street View images from 2022, they are not visible. So they must be a recent addition.

They added those to our local Apple store too after a remodel a couple years ago.

What's funny is that they have three stores within 3-6 miles in Dallas, but, it's been like that for years so it must be working for them.

The stores in Dallas (Northpark Mall, Knox, the Galleria) are near very affluent areas. (The Galleria store is probably the least affluent area, IMO.) I figure Apple has a calculus similar to Starbucks or Chick-Fil-A about how they choose where to put a store.

True but it's not like only rich folks visit the store. They get traffic from everywhere in Dallas area. All three stores I have been to have always been packed.

They could have three stores in Fort Worth and a store in Arlington too. Fort Worth has grown to a million people and has been expanding area wise. That little store that is moving across the parking lot is always crowded and sometimes hard to move around in.

That's fair.

There was a store in Collin County at Willow Bend mall, but it closed a while back. I'm surprised they didn't replace that store somewhere else in the county. However, it's not as densely populated as Dallas County, so shipping might be cheaper/just as useful. I have no idea what Apple's store-strategy is!

Wouldn't be surprised if they stick one in Mansfield, instead. Mansfield and Grand Prairie are both going through new development booms.

I never have had any problem parking even on launch days. Easy parking. The new location is in the same shopping center. The old store was on the south end and the new store is on the north end. Looks like less spaces in on that side, the parking is divided by a road in the center but some more around the back. There are fewer stores there so the parking might be less used.
