Okay. I have an iPod touch, I bought it in February. Then I got iPhone OS 3.0 and then the beta expired. I downloaded it through Bit torrent. then when I could not restore, (I tries DFU mode). I went to the Genius Bar and was honest and they were kind enough to replace it for me. They also told me not to do it again and wait for the Official release this summer. The last Thursday, I had it plugged, charging I had it on the floor and under my bed so I wouldn't step on it at night. Well at 2:30 AM I tripped on the power cord and that did two things. It slammed my iPod into the wooded foot of my bed cracking the glass and now there's a crack going from the left corner to the right side one inch down. To make matters even worse it also ripped out the charging 30 pin connector. So it was all bent and now I can't charge it. So today I went to the Apple Store with $120.00 prepared to pay for a replacement 8 GB. I told the Genius the whole story and the Genius replaced it for FREE and suggested I buy a case. So now my replacement iPod touch is in an iSee case with a Power Support Crystal Film Set. Maybe it's because I'm thirteen and I go to the Apple Store almost every weekend or he is a good guy. The staff even know my name! When I walk in, they go high Nick.
Or it could be me telling them the whole story.
So if you ever have an issue that was OUR fault just be honest and maybe, just maybe the Genuis will replace it for you.
