Apple store opponents crowdfund to 'buy' Federation Square building set for demolition

This is just getting ridiculous, that area has been commercial space ever since it was opened, and it will be all beneficial for the economy, there is nothing heritage about the area, as someone who lives in this area it pisses me off even further.

Your link didn't go in... here's one about this from The Guardian

I am from Melbourne, heritage body wipes out Federation square plans. Bad luck apple. I am glad too. That section of Melbourne must stay as it is.

There's literally nothing "heritage" about the steaming dog-poop that is the blight that occupies FedSqu. It's not even 20 years old.
It's hilarious and nonsensical that the building everybody called an eyesore and a mistake is suddenly being treasured for its sentimental value.

Those rose-coloured glasses that make people look back insincerely and inaccurately at their hair, music and fashion mistakes in the 80s and 90s, yet claim "things were so much better back then...."
It's nothing short of dishonest.
