Apple store orders only ones not being shipped early

I've noticed people ordering from carriers (esp at&t) as opposed to the Apple Store are receiving orders earlier. I haven't heard of anyone getting earlier fullfilment of their order through the apple store. Am I wrong?

I think that apple has shipped early in the past, but frankly since apple controls the supply I would expect their estimates to be more accurate. The other resellers are dependent on apple to send them stock and they may not know exactly how much they're getting or when. I'm sure they err on the side of caution with their estimates because people will be happy if it shows up early, but quite upset if its late.

That sounds logical. Sad to hear but logical.
