So I got a kinda weird question:

If I order an iMac 27" with some non-stock specs from Apple.com and choose to pick it up at an Apple Store when it becomes available does Apple give it to me WITH the brown box over the normal white box or does it just come in the standard iMac box?

I am wondering because I have to take it a decent distance and want to know if it will have that second level of protection during travel.

Thanks.

This is only an educated guess.

I would assume that they will just give you the plain white box. I'm pretty sure your iMac will come consolidated with other computers in a larger box.

If that is the case, I'm sure you could just ask for a brown box since it will be garbage at the point.

If you have to travel with the white box, I'm sure you would be fine. You could also purchase some bubble wrap for a few bucks if wanted to take the extra precaution.
