Apple Store Pickup Time Frame

I just ordered a brand new 13" macbook pro. 256 GB / upgraded 16 GB Ram. Before selecting the upgrades, the option to pick up in the store was there and when I proceeded with the upgrade the pickup option didn't change. Once I checked out, it said I would be able to pick it up on July 01 (2 Weeks from yesterday). I'm in NYC if that matters.

I'm assuming it was because I upgraded the RAM and they don't carry anything but the standard in store?

I was just wondering if anyone has any experience with this and if it actually took 2 weeks. My apartment was robbed and I have freelance work to do!

Yup, the delay is likely due to it being BTO.

You may have better luck simply calling/visiting some of the larger Apple stores in the city to see if they have some of the BTO models in stock. I'm not from NY but I imagine they must have non-stock options available.
