Hey guys

Here is a question - How come thier are very little Apple Stores in the UK? Does anybody know if Apple plan to open more.

Im from Northern Ireland and the best thing to getting to look at Apple products is PC World.....!

Ive added a poll - please vote

Nearest one is in Birmingham, about 1 hour away by train. I'd rather order online. Played with the demo iPhone at the local O2 store though.

think your in luck soupyjnr, as far as i know there's an apple store going into the new victoria square centre in Belfast, sometime around march-april i think it opens!:) thats one of the reasons i went for the extra 2 years applecare!

Yeah I heard that too but there is nothing on the Victoria Squares website - I wonder will they be applying for staff... imagine that - workin at an apple store - thatd be amazin!!!!

Flip itd be amazin if they did open one there!

Cool - tell me, are they good? Are they different from walking into PC World. Obvieously its all Apple stuff, but I mean the staff, are they nice and pleasent, informative... do they make you feel bad for not purchasing or are they thier solely to give retail advise?

AppleStore is very different from PC world!!! It's much more fun to go there and play with all the stuff. And no, staff won't make you feel bad if you're not buying the thing after they've been talking to you! And why should you feel bad? You're the customer (their boss)!!

I'm in the suburbs of NYC so I have all of NYC's apple stores 25 minutes south and another one 15 minutes north at the mall. ;)

It's good to have like 6 apple stores in a 30 mile radius!

Lucky you! I got no official Apple Store around here, because Apple isn't in Czech Republic officially.
I'm buying MacBook from Austria though...:)

well, the nearest apple store is 50 miles away, an hour on the train (right into central london  )
but they are building one 15 minutes from my house :D

True point! Whilst I want an Apple Store in Belfast City Center, its just to handy for me to get to..... Everytime I got paid, the card would be comin out!

I doubt that will happen. We will be the last place in the UK to get one :)

Sadly the nearest Apple store is an hour and a half from my home (with no traffic, I am sure with traffic it may get over 2 hours). I am going to be going for the first time on Wednesday to get my iPhone taken care of (bottom half of the screen is not responding to touch). While I hate the drive, even if it isn't replaced and I have to wait for it to be sent off for repair I will have a chance to see the Apple store.

Now this isn't to say my city doesn't need one, we have three colleges in the area one of which is very well known for it's graphic arts, advertising, and video technology programs. There is no doubt Apple could make profits in this area. Apple is changing the retail experience and getting converts on a daily basis. One step into an Apple store and I can't imagine why the majority of people wouldn't make the switch. Or at least enough of the people to make the Apple store worthwhile.

I'm fortunate enough to have to.....

One is 35 minutes away, the other is 45 minutes away.

The 35 minute store is in Maryland and has a 6% Sales Tax.

The 45 minute store is on Delaware and has a 0% Sales Tax.

If I ever need a repair, I go to the 35 minute store, to purchase I go to the 45 minute store! :)

Now if I was a gambling man, I could stop off at a Delaware race track and wager the 6% I saved from not paying Sales Tax! :D
