Apple Store Refurbished Computers Question (Ram)

Hey all. I was thinking about upgrading my iMac to a 24" one... refurbished.

The iMac I currently own, I purchased from the Apple Refurb store about 2 years ago and they upgraded my ram for me for free to 2GB...

I was wondering if they still do this, if anyone has purchased any refurbished computers from the Apple Store lately? Did they hook you up with ram / other upgrades?


If not, is it hard to install ram on the new iMacs? I haven't gotten a chance to see how to dismantle them.

It's basically pot luck. There has never been a policy that all refurbs have extra RAM etc. You got lucky last time. Do you think you'll get lucky again?

Do it yourself. There is only 1 screw to undo the lower grill and the RAM just slots in. Couldn't be easier. There are even youtube videos that can show you.

Ok then, I guess I'll roll the dice and take my chances in about a month. Need to save up a few more checks.
