I know that in the past, Apple Stores offered a general 10% off sale at OS release events. Has anyone heard about this for Leopard? Does anyone remember if they did it last time?

If thats true, combined with a edu discount, it might be worth the trek to one of the tax free states, you'd really clean up that day with a new MBP or something. :D

In the past, I -believe- it was an either/or for the EDU discount, but I wasn't a student so I don't know for certain.

Anybody know if you can (or have been able to in the past) get a general 10% discount on release date in the UK?

If so i'm buying a macbook pro

When Tiger was released, you got scratch-off coupon cards that were good for discounts or songs from ITMS.

Unless I was in a huge hurry to get home and install Tiger, don't remember there being a storewide sale.

For Panther there was a store wide 10% discount on all new systems. Don't know about Tiger or the EDU discount, but I hope the 10% discount for new hardware is there on Friday.
