My local store is crumbling.

O2 systems are down and only 3 sales have gone through in 3 hours.

Great to see Apple computers running XP in VMWare to process orders in Internet Explorer

I started the process at 0802 at the Apple Store Lakeside and it is now 1120hrs and I am still waiting for the O2 server to authorise the contract. A total absolute farce !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Five phones sold in three and half hours !!!!!!!

Bluewater and Lakeside would have been my fallback options if I hadn't upgraded online. Sounds like hell.

Then again, sitting at home waiting for a delivery is annoying too :D

Well, those hand held devices they use to do checkout here in the US are running Windows Mobile.

I can beat that, apple bluewater has done 1 in 3 hours

Going to my local McDonalds for a drink - I saw their highest take in a hour was around £400. Pity McDonalds can get more sales done in an hour than O2 selling iPhones... :S

my o2 store in bedford was doing loads of sales, about 12 an hour (well not loads, but more than most) with the upgrade process working as well (after a shaky start) and i even got the last 16gb iphone!!! :D ;) :) :D ;) :) :D ;) :)

You'd have been better off at the Lakeside O2 shop, I walked out with the 11th (and LAST) 16Gb phone just 2 hours and 15 minutes after the store opened.

It only took them 75 minutes after opening to count the 11 16Gb phones they had and tell people after me that they were out of luck... of course they *didn't actually get the count right* and had to come back 5 minutes later to tell the 12th guy he was not getting the one they promised him.

I wouldn't trust O2 to run a bath, let alone a phone shop.

Lordy. Bet they're wishing they'd stuck to the iTunes activation now.
