The line is already 30 strong. They will be opening at 9 and did get a shipment last night. Looks like opening early with iPads in stock is happening today

Update: 25 tickets handed out. No shipment yet and making ticket holders come back later
 
That's where I bought my iPad on launch day. There were about 500 in line. I was number 25 after arriving at 12:30 pm.

Especially sad considering the employee hinted at the early opening repeatedly and strongly urged me to come before 9.

Awesome.
 
They pulled the same **** with me on Friday telling me they would hand out tickets at noon. They didn't until 4:45. Apples launch of the iPad 2 is really showing their arrogance. I hope they consider their customers and fans more for their next launch. I actually have to go back to that store to return the extra iPad 2 I bought for my wife. She didn't want it if you can believe that. She said she wants shoes instead. I will never understand women.
 
I was there too

I was there this morning. I was about 35th in line or so. I was the one with the baby in the stroller. I ended up going to best buy at Chapel Hill and getting on the waiting list. They said only 3 were ahead of me for the model I wanted. I imagine that shouldn't take any longer then the current wait is online. It is too hard to wait in lines each day with a baby. I was willing to do it once to try my luck, but i will just have to be patient now.
 
So I just got back from the store again just to ensure they didn't receive more than their estimate and they were right on. Last handful of the 25 tickets had basically no choice in model - 32GB or 64GB Verizon wifi+3G.

I don't have time to sit around every morning, looks like I'll be going elsewhere!! It must be brutal as an Apple employee being asked 45+ times an hour whether they have ipads as they stand next to the "We're sold out" sign.

Thanks for letting us know. I had a nagging thought that I should have stuck around. Glad to know I made the right choice. I am going to stick with Best Buy. We have gift cards and reward points so it probably makes the most sense anyhow.
 
This would be my local store too. Should have ordered online, but didn't think there would be this much demand. Anyone know when they get their shipments? If you are in line early and get a reservation, can you return at any time to actually purchase it?
 
think I made the right decision

I just got a call from Best Buy that my iPad is in. Eight days wasn't too bad of a wait.
 
available at best buy howe ave

As of an hour ago there were two 16g available at the best buy howe ave. Not sure on color.
