Apple this week announced that its retail store at La Encantada in Tucson, Arizona will be moving to a temporary location that opens Saturday, November 9 at 10 a.m. local time. Apple says the temporary store will be located on the second level of the outdoor shopping center, just in front of the stairs and escalator leading to that level.

Apple will likely renovate its original store at La Encantada while operating out of the temporary location, but the company did not share details or a timeframe. Apple first opened a store there in 2004, and its interior design is now dated.

Last week, we reported that Apple would be opening a relocated store in Fairfax, Virginia, and a temporary store at Roosevelt Field on Long Island in New York. Apple has since announced that both of these stores will open on November 9 as well. Overall, it will be an eventful weekend for Apple retail in the U.S., with three stores on the move.

What was a Victoria's Secret next door has been under renovations for months, so maybe it's a bigger structural issue or they're just going down the line.

Just means it's better to park up the hill in the 'back' now.

That said if they're planning to make it larger I'd welcome it - it gets pretty crowded in there during peak times.

Attending an Apple Store grand opening is always an exciting event

I remember reading about the grand opening of the Apple Store that is closest to my house back in 2016 and being able to go to the grand opening of that store (the MarketStreet Apple Store) in Lynnfield, Massachusetts:

I went there with one of my friends who is also really into Apple and we had a great time at the grand opening so anyone who is in the area of these 3 stores who is fortunate enough to attend, will have a great time for sure!

I live in Tucson and this is a welcomed upgrade. It's still a narrow space to operate out of and can get busy, especially around holidays and product release dates. They have had many opportunities to grab a bigger and more prominent space in La Encantada. Wait and see.

What interior design? The apple stores I've seen were display walls and tables, a service counter and that's it. Minimalist was not the word, to let the hardware shine.

As nice as some newer Apple stores look, I kind of like the 2000s Apple Store look and atmosphere. 😞
Likewise, today's Apple stores are geared around appointments to buy stuff. The old Apple stores were geared around browsing and getting helped. Today's Apple stores feel sterile and cold, the older Apple stores felt exciting and new.

The last few times going to my local apple store have been less than stellar. The store itself is very fresh and modern but service was lackluster.
