Apple Stores and Apple Authorized Service Providers are now able to complete same-unit repairs for the Studio Display, instead of having to replace the entire display, according to an internal memo obtained by MacRumors.

The change came into effect this week, with Apple Stores and Apple Authorized Service Providers now able to order parts to complete Studio Display repairs in store.

Introduced alongside the Mac Studio in March, the Studio Display is Apple's newest standalone monitor that is positioned as a lower-priced alternative to its Pro Display XDR. The display features a 27-inch screen with 5K resolution, a 12-megapixel Ultra Wide camera with Center Stage, a six-speaker sound system with Spatial Audio, one Thunderbolt 3 port, and three USB-C ports. Pricing starts at $1,599 in the United States.

Studio Display supply remains heavily constrained. In the United States, Studio Display orders placed today on Apple's online store are estimated to ship in 6-10 weeks depending on the configuration. In-store availability is also tight.

Is there any chance this means they can change the display's stand, as rumored a while back?

Does anyone know where I can find the wireless charging pad/headphone stand pictured in the article?

But how much is it to swap from one Studio Display stand option to another after purchase, at Apple or their Authorised service providers?

Literally no articles have investigated this yet... why?

E.g. Going from the VESA mount version to the tilt stand, or VESA mount to tilt+height stand?

Still no mention of this stand upgrade pricing...? Anyone happen to know, by chance?

Yes, that's the MR story of them offering the stand-changing service... but HOW MUCH are the various options?

E.g.'s:
1. VESA to TILT?
2. TILT to VESA?

3. VESA to TILT+HEIGHT?
4. TILT+HEIGHT to VESA?

5. TILT to TILT+HEIGHT?
6. TILT+HEIGHT to TILT?

Well if no else was going to chime in... to answer my own question, from a Reddit thread it looks like the labour cost alone is US$119.

Then the price of the extra part if there is one.

So going from, for example:
- Vesa to Tilt = just $119 (as they retail the same price).
- Vesa to Tilt+Height = $519 (119 labour + 400 stand extra).

Although one wonders what happens if you go from the Tilt+Height back down to one of the other options that are cheaper?
I'd guess it'd be the $119 labour fee, and presumably they let your keep the $400 stand incase you want swap it back again in future (where they'll charge you another $119 fee for the privilege, lol!?)?

So there we go... all's (semi-opaque) clear.
