why would you want to go to an Apple store (well actually any store) on thanksgiving?

Thanksgiving is for turkey and football, not buying ****.

Well given that the OP's location says, Germany, s/he might not observe Thanksgiving the way many Americans do. Maybe the OP will just happen to be in the States on that day and wants to buy some Appley-goodness?

Plus, it gets boring. Not all of us eat turkey not all of us watch football. And everything is closed or closes v early on Gobble-Gobble Day.

Even grocery stores will usually close up at 6PM instead of being open 'til 10PM or 24 hrs a day.

I have friends from Germany visiting me for the long weekend. And the want to buy some stuff b/c of the good exchange rate. What about the day after TG? Otherwise there will be only the weekend left.

Black Friday, as it is so aptly named, is one of the two busiest shopping days of the year in the U.S. Of course, I tend to be right in the thick of it, but if you're looking to go browse and enjoy a relaxing day of shopping - this isn't the day for it.

When I check the Calendar of Events on the http://www.apple.com/retail web site it looks like they are offering work shops on Thu but not on Fri. Could it be they are open on Thanksgiving but not on the Friday?

They may or may not be open on Thursday. My best guess is that they will be open for part of the day but close early. Calling your local store may be the best way to get an answer.

As far as friday, Im not surprised that they are not offering workshops. Again, this will be an extremely busy shopping day and they will most likely need the staff and space for selling products, not holding workshops.
