Hello everyone,

Today I was about to get a great deal on a Studio Display, but it seems that the cable provided doesn't work with my work laptop Dell 5440. Technically supports Thunderbolt 4, but once connected it could not connect properly. It would show like some artifacts and then black screen.

I really would love to buy this monitor, do you know if there's any sort of adapter that could help? like maybe the ones for playing through HDMI with a nintendo Switch? My intention is to buy a bunch of those adapters and go see the monitor again.

Thanks a lot!

Have never tried myself but I would suspect you don’t have a properly spec cable - Thunderbolt 3/4 cable, not just any old USB-C cable. This blogger has done it…

If someone has this sort of trouble in the future... just let you know, it's the cable!!! So, even using the original Apple one that comes with the Display, could not be the proper one with your windows laptop. Just purchase a couple and start to test with which one your PC works.
