I just got an Imac and i keep having to call tech support for various reasons. It kinda suxs though that every time i call its at least a 30 min wait and that their only open from 8 to 8. What if i have a problem late at night and i cant get only either to read the tech-support. Apple really needs to fix the whole tech support issue. They have a store open 24 but they cant get someone to help you 24s? kinda annoying

I agree. Tech support where I live closes at 6. Such a pain (because lately I have been having near daily problems with my AirPort Express) What bugs me most is that when I have a very complex problem, (after a half hour of being on hold) I tell them whats happening, and ask to go straight to a product specialist, and they always say no. Then an hour later, after going through all of the procedures that I already did before I called Apple, I get to the specialist.

I called and got into an argument with them and told them that its messed up that other stupid pc companys have 24 hrs tech support and the guy was like no other company has 24 hr tech support. Hopefully Apple can change that to 24 hrs or at least a till midnight everywhere. I dont even get home at time till after 8 and leave b4 8 am so not a lot of time to tlk to tech

When will people learn that getting into arguments and yelling at tech support people is not going to get them anywhere?

I work at a helpdesk for a university, and when people call in and are rude and pissy, I am much less likely to offer them as much help as I can, because I don't want to be yelled at by someone in a bad mood, and I'll just pass their problem off to one of our technicians who will go out there sometime in a few days. If someone else calls in and is nice and pleasant and has the exact same problem, I'll work with them for as long as necessary to get their problem resolved during the call.

Don't treat the people who are trying to offer you assistance like sh*t. You won't get anywhere.

A lot of the ppl that answer the phones give one answer and then i call again and get a different one. If someone doesnt know than just say they dont know dont just ******** often the only thing that does help is get pissed because most ppl that pick up phones follow a sheet saying what their allowed to say so basically its a tape recorder

What problems are you having with your new iMac?
The Imac keeps freezing up on me and i updated to leopard and it still didnt help when tech support told me that it would resolve the issue

You may have a bad RAM module. Run the hardware test on it, and see if it flags one of your RAM modules.
