G'day,

I have a 2012 Mac mini running Mojave, and I've just picked up an Apple Thunderbolt Display 27" (2011-16), connected via the thunderbolt port. My older Apple Cinema Display 23" is also connected using a DVI to HDMI adapter.

When the Mini has been asleep, sometimes when I wake it up the ACD wakes, but not the Thunderbolt. I need to pull the power on the Thunder to make it then wake up (the ACD goes black, then both come on together).

I can see a bunch of people asking about this display not waking up, but generally it seems to be about Macbook/Pro's, not a desktop Mac.

Anyone have any insight on this? I'm wanting to make sure it's not a display issue, so I know if I need to refer to the person I bought it from.

So far the screen has been 2/2 - it has woken after 2 short sleeps, but when the sleep was more than an hour or two, I've had to pull the power cord.

Any remedies?

Cheers

Addendum - If I set my Mac mini not to sleep, all good. But, I don't really want to keep it going forever.

Admittedly, I am hoping to move over to my 2020 Mac mini M1 over the next few weeks... But I'm curious why this monitor, which seemed to be the darling of the past 20 years, is so buggy from a software perspective.
