Apple Time Capsule: Which is the latest Macos that works with Time Capsule?

i am offered a cheap used time capsule. i know, that the hard drive will be formatted as hfs. will the time capsule be able to save files from macs with afp formatted drives?

I fired up my first gen (2008) Time Capsule (A1254) connected via Ethernet to my M1 Mac Mini on the Monterey beta, and it works fine to drag files to it. It also works with Time Machine on an APFS container.
