Apple today updated its investor relations page to note it will announce its earnings for the second fiscal quarter (first calendar quarter) of 2016 on Monday, April 25.

The earnings release will provide a look at sales of the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus following Apple's record first quarter, which saw the company announce 74.8 million iPhone sales and $18.4 billion profit on $75.9 billion in revenue. Apple has warned that iPhone sales will decline in the March quarter, potentially leading to Apple's first year-over-year decline since the iPhone was released in 2007.

During its first quarter earnings report, Apple provided Q2 2016 guidance of $50 to $53 billion in revenue and gross margin between 39 and 39.5 percent. Should Apple only take in $50 to $53 billion, the company will also see its first year-over-year revenue drop in 13 years.

The quarterly earnings statement will be released at 1:30 PM Pacific/4:30 PM Eastern, with a conference call to discuss the report taking place at 2:00 PM Pacific/5:00 PM Eastern. MacRumors will provide coverage of both the earnings release and conference call on April 25.

Interesting that the iPhone SE doesn't launch until after the quarter end. Supposedly it is pre-selling very well in China. I guess Apple is looking to cram the "bad news" into the current quarter.

Made about $12 per share on this panic session. Bring it on.

Unfortunately Apple did not release an iPhone 6/6s in a 4 inch form factor. And the design it released for 6/6s with unsightly protruding camera and awful antenna bands was such an unresolved mess lots of people decided to hold off upgrading.
I've been advocating for a new 4 design direction for a looooong time and more recently on MacRumors. I even started a recent forum about this very specific design seeking comment and other design suggestions at the forum before the recently rumour: https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/future-apple-design-language.1963417/
Apple really does read MacRumors and continues to shamelessly steal great artist's design ideas.

Probably same old things. iPhone sales decline because everyone that wanted one already has one, iPad sales decline because they made the iPad 2 invincible, Mac sales increase modestly as many wait for new refreshes, Other category is good (no watch sales numbers, just revenue), etc...

We made the best products ever! Thank you! - Tim Cook

Just goes to show how hysterical share traders really are and why the stock market isn't a true indication of a company's worth but more a reflection of what narcotics share traders eat or do not eat for breakfast.

So the pertruding camera and antenna bands is a mess and kept people from upgrading...yet that design has set record sales...

In Singapore, I'm enjoying the schadenfreude that the carrier preorders for the 64GB SE was already sold out online while the S7 was still in-stock right from day 1.

That sums up everything that's wrong with the stock market.
You have to take into account the people who sell off shares because of a single earnings report. After all, he wouldn't be making money on his short-term short position if nobody was selling.

Don't worry I'm sure every Wall Street analyst will spin this this and no matter what the numbers are will determine that because the Watch didn't sell the 250 million units that the outside analyst (although no one at Apple) predicted, then Apple is surely doomed, lost its edge, can't innovate and is a ruin of a company will lose all its money by next quarter.

Record launch sales. Apple already predicted a drop in iPhone revenue for this quarter at their last earnings report. Suggesting oversll sales were not as strong as historically or were flagging already.

If sales have declined, it won't be because of the protruding camera. It's because the big ticket new feature, 3D Touch, is just pretty boring to your everyday consumer.

Those unrealistic predictions from those analysts are part of the reason why Apple's stock price is high. When Apple reports the real numbers and are below the predictions, the price gets adjusted. Stop trying to blame investors for the roller coaster ride you get.

First, record numbers of devices sold back even in the iPhone 6 days over a year ago, so unrelated to any of this from even back then. Second a slow down on the sale growth doesn't somehow mean on its own that 3D Touch isn't doing well given that plenty more rational explanations can exist for that (like smartphone market saturation, the introduction of a new device that some people want to wait for, etc.). In any of those cases the design doesn't really seem to stand out as something negative, which was originally implied.

What can I say. Lots of people don't have taste.
People do, it just differs, given that taste is subjective.

Except all that happens about the same way even when Apple sets all time worldwide profit records as well.

And keep in mind I'm not gaming anyone. I have 1000 shares on an initial 600 investment (whatever it was pre split). I will never touch those original shares or really the majority I've added since my original purchase in 2011ish. But if I know people will panic at each earnings that doesn't blow away analyst consensus, only a sucker would just allow themselves to lose value when you know in advance there will be a 15% or more panic dip. Nobody is forcing investors to freak out and hedge manipulation at volume does not cause a typical AAPL dip. They may start the panic but it's up to the investor to be educated and pick up on this trend. If I can dump 300 shares at 115-120 then grab 4-500 after the dip using only the money I got from that sale of 300 then should I not just to prove a point?

If rumors are true, wait until a minor "spec bumped" iPhone 7 drops this September, minus significant redesign over the current iPhone 6/6S aesthetic. Hypercritical Wall Street analysists will have a field day...you'd think the sky is falling.
