Slaptech is reporting that along with the .mac conversion a $100/year membership fee will be required to use Apple's iTools services. If it's true, I hope it's for premium services and not the simple things we've been enjoying for free.

Apple would have to be insane to start charging for iTools! It will made less-experienced mac users everywhere feel that Apple is just turning into Microsoft and that their once "user-friendlyness" is lost! Well, I may be exaggerating (sp?) a bit, but I seriously doubt Apple would charge for what has become such a valuable resource for mac users.

the whole .Mac thing sounds pretty stupid..I think iTools is here to stay and possibly, more paying services - like the current added iDisk space - will be added..
