Apple to hold an event December 9th

Heard that Apple is to hold an event on said date releasing iOS 4.3 which will allow developers to integrate subscription payments into their apps. Other things also rumoured is support for AirPlay video in 3rd party apps.
Personally I would also like a quick update on the Mac App Store and a new iWork suite

My friend works for the guardian and says he has been working closely with Apple (an American newspaper will also be launching alongside this announcement). He said that apple will be announcing something before christmas to add a subscription feature to apps, I have just seen these articles and putting two and two together...
