Apple is teaming up with popular music video app Musical.ly to promote Apple Music, reports Recode. Apple will soon provide song snippets and clips to the service, which is designed to let users create and share their own music videos.

Apple Music content will be replacing content from UK-based provider 7digital as soon as tomorrow.

Through the partnership with Apple, and with Apple's access to licensing deals, Musical.ly will be able to expand the number of countries where it is available from 30 to 120.

Musical.ly, which calls itself an entertainment social network, has been around since August of 2014, but has recently seen a surge in popularity among teenagers. In exchange for the right to use Apple Music content, Musical.ly will promote the Apple Music service to its users and will let Apple Music subscribers listen to full songs within the Musical.ly app.

This is the most cancerous app on the platform, making the utmost talentless bimbos imaginable famous.

It's growing popularity should really invoke concern for our youth.

And no I'm not being salty, just 2 minutes of YouTube research into the matter and you will contemplate stabbing your eyes.

Did not know this existed. I can see why apple teamed up with them. Remember people apple is a consumer company now.....would Sony do this...hell yeah!! Reach reach reach.....

Exactly what I expected

Yes, because only your taste matters.

Because there aren't teenager girls in this world.

Because a couple of kids making funny videos and dancing to songs is so bad.

"concern for our youth"

This, and MTV back in the 90s...

Apple always has been a consumer company, not "now".

Business are boring, laggards, pay bad and will never look at Apple's design and details.

They were a computer company. Was even in the name....cause they just sold computers.

By definition of consumer , it's not specialising in one segment, like Sony. Apple specialised in "computers". Not talking about selling computers to consumers.....

They were a CONSUMER computer company.

The definition of consumer is not that. The definition of "consumer" is that it oftenly breaks, not very accurate, etc. or not ready for ISM use (industrial, scientific and military), not ready for medical use or automobile use.

Your definition, is the definition of a "bankrupt" company.

You just want to bicker right....geez, bored ?

Yes.... Apple sold consumer computer products.... to consumers ....

And today apple does not offer just computer products , but a wide range of "consumer" products ...

Something like Samsung would blow your mind with its various divisions....

yes apple have always been a "consumer" company by definition.... wow.

That's weird
I was thinking the new Apple clips application is going to eat this musical.ly

I was actually thinking the same thing. You would think Apple would have done this for the Clips app before any 3rd party app.

It's an app for people with absolutely zero talent who want to pretend that they in fact, do have talent and then send said proof of zero talent to their zero talented friends and strangers all over the world.

Progress... CATCH IT!

Please I don't want Apple Music to be a completely bloated mess, just redesign the UI and get rid of all the pink, white and bold **** please.

Of course only my taste matters. It's my taste. Of course talentless bimbos should be told so. It's how talentless bimbos get to be not talentless bimbos. It's how things improve. You change what is bad and do something good. Apple go the other way. They used to be the computer company that made computers that just worked. They made the best computers. They made the computers pros used and gave the brand credibility and status. Now they pander to talentless bimbos and kid themselves they are cool because they have lost their criteria or yardstick. They have no clue what is good or worthy. They only see the parents of 13 year olds buying phones like crazy and think that's an industry. They think making office blocks round is significant. They think design is all about looks and the people who agree with them buy Apple: the talentless bimbos.
The people who bought Apple before the talentless bimbos are naffed off because the brand they came to like and rely on has been sold down the river to talentless bimbos. There is still just enough of the original Apple left in the ecosystem to warrant speaking out and trying to convince Apple of their silliness. Of course we all know that if that doesn't work we can simply buy PCs and get on with the job like we used to. Apple hasn't got that message yet because of the talentless, blinkered, deluded bimbos who work there.

By your definition every company that receives payment for a product or service offered to the public should be defined as a consumer company right?

How was this service playing music before? I haven't used it but I imagine that you play a song and then dance or something. Were they playing pirated music to their users?

I think this is a really smart partnership though. They need snippets, Apple needs more mindshare amongst teens. Perfect match.

Looking at their site, it's pretty clear this is absolutely for teenagers. Nothing makes me want to sing out loud in front of the mirror in a towel but record it and upload it to the web.

Also, looks like kids are wearing styles from the 80s again. Madonna is cool again?

I think I see where he was going with that. It wasn't so much a polemic against kids having fun as it was a rant against Apple trying to be hip instead of being hip before even the hipsters could see the hip.

Apple used to know where the world was going before the world itself knew. Apple was the company that had other companies yelling "Why the hell didn't we think of that?!" after every SteveNote. Witness the widespread adoption of USB and brightly colored plastics after 1998. Then the switch to very subtle, very brilliant industrial design. Tiny little things meant a lot when properly applied. And of course, there was that phone thing...

Now Apple just chases trends, tries to stay ahead of them, and tries its best to look hip. Like a 50 year old man in skinny jeans, talking to kids about "rad" things like those "Imagined Dragons". Tim Cook does a singalong. The rest of the Apple staff does tag team comedy at product announcements. At least Jony Ive stays out of it. He probably sits in the pub over a Guiness, muttering about "tossers on stage" or something like that.

Apple seems like a bunch of old men on skateboards now.

My apologies then. I totally misread that.
