I had purchased "The Hobbit" on iTunes and synched it with my Apple TV 1. Finally got to watch it today. Now when the forced subtitles come on for Elfish, Orc or Goblin speech the subtitles stay on screen and do not disappear after it is no longer needed. I had to stop the movie and restart it. Pause would not fix it either. Anyone else have this problem or is there a fix? Or is it because it is a Gen 1? Thanks.

I've had that problem with BluRay movies that I transcoded for ATV using Handbrake, but this was prior to the newer version that can search for, and burn in, forced subs. Since then, it's not been a problem.

My gen1 does this too. I report a concern about persistant subtitles and they credit me free movie/rental or reverse charge on CC. Get to keep DRM'd file if I bought, but they don't store in cloud.
I hope they don't fix this :)

I haven't tried to resync and I want to try that first. But if the subtitles stick then I'll contact them and see if I can get a credit. Thanks.
