apple tv 2 luminous colours after 10 mins

I don't know if anyone has had this problem but after 10 or so mins of viewing the colours start to bleed badly on screen. This includes the apple tv menu. Only got it last Friday. I have it connected via hdmi to hdtv. Any advice will be welcome

It's a known issue with HDMI/HDCP sync between the ATV and some TVs, in particular, models by Sony and Phillips.

specifically the V1 ATV offered a number of HDMI modes, where the ATV with iOS4.2 only offers auto. By utilizing those extra modes, the ATV 1 could be coaxed into working with pretty much everything out there.

iOS 4.3 should be released real soon now, and there's reason to believe that will fix your issue.
