I am looking to get rid of my cable/directv as I only use it for sports. If I jailbreak my apple tv 2 is it possible to install location spoofer so I can watch local teams through either MLB or NBA league pass.

I don't know but I'd love it...

the Wash Nationals Black out zone is beyond ridiculus (i'm over 500 miles away, 600 for baltimore and blacked out from both)

Bump... any updates on this?

I see there is location spoofer in cydia for iphones and ipads which seems to work quite well for getting around the blackout restrictions. Is there anything similar for atv2 or atv1?

I'm using the location spoofer from cydia on my ipad2 and use that to stream MLB.tv games they don't allow. It works good Thru airplay

Yes, I know it works like that. But I'd like a more "seamless" experience.

I don't want to have to have an iPad or an iPhone in order to watch baseball on TV.

yeah i got all of this to work yesterday by jb'ing my iPhone, d/ling nba app, and then airplay over to the Apple TV 2, but the quality isn't that great. i was hoping for near HD but it's not. i would just buy the league pass but i want my local games and also the games on espn/tnt.

I'm starting to think the best route might to buy an a last-gen Mac Mini and set up an HTPC using that. I would use a proxy for MLBtv to get around the blackout. Seems like there is no way to get around the blackout on an jailbroken aTV (without any other devices).

Getting blackout games on MLB.tv

After cutting the cable/satellite cord, I know yo can use AppleTV and MLB.tv subscription to get local team's games. In order to get the blackout games you need a DNS server. Unotelly.com works great and has a free 8 day trial.

i find the easiest way is to use an idevice. unotelly or unblock us don't work with nab(unotelly doesnt on a computer not idevice), and so i use unblock for hockey and football, and for nba games i just turn on a vpn, connect to the game, and you can turn off the vpn after the game is on.
